Our ultimate goalposted on 28 May 2010 | posted in Point to ponder | ( 0 ) CommentsI have just been reading a book by Floyd McClung called 'You see bones I see an Army' in it he talks about things we need to be focused on and then he says so well the one focus above all others is.... "The one thing that transcends all others, the focus we are to have above everything else, is the gorly of God. That's all that matters. The golry of God is the ultimate, not spiritual gifts God gave us to spread his glory. When this age is over, and we bow in his presence, followers of Jesus will look for one thing, and that is to look into his eyes and see the pleasure and joy he recieves when we lay our treasures, our crowns, at his feet. That's what we strive to see: the delight Jesus has when we bring him worship throught laying our crowns at his feet. Our ultimate goal is not how impressive our prayers are, or how many poor we feed, or the leaders we train, or the churches we plant, or great programmes we start, or any of the things we do for him. This is the dream, the one thing that counts at the end of time, to be able to look into those beautiful, piercing eyes and know that hi is worshipped and enjoyed and loved by those we have brought to him. That is our reward. That is enough. We ask no more than that." This is what energises and focuses everything we do at Longton Community Church. Do you have a hunger to see the glory of God covering the earth? Are you ready to lay down your preconceived ideas, and ways of doing things to fulfill the ultimate goal of seeing others worship Jesus? Share this blog entry:
