Praying Scripture Back to God (day 6)

posted on 10 August 2010 | posted in Prayer  | ( 0 ) Comments

Adoration

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are Your judgments, and Your ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been Your counselor? Or who has first given to You, That You should repay him? For from You and through You and to You are all things. To You be the glory forever! Amen. (Romans 11:33–36)

Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, because His judgments are true and righteous. (Revelation 19:1–2)

What are your thoughts as you express your praise and worship to God today?

Confession

The Lord your God is gracious and compassionate, and He will not turn His face from you if you return to Him. (2 Chronicles 30:9)

Ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness.

Renewal

  • Like Josiah, may I do what is right in the sight of the Lord, walking in the ways of David and not turning aside to the right or to the left. (2 Chronicles 34:1–2)
  • Like Josiah, give me a tender and responsive heart, so that I will humble myself before You when I hear Your word. (2 Chronicles 34:27)
  • May I walk in the steps of Jesus, who often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. (Mark 1:35; Luke 5:16)
Pause to add your own prayers for personal renewal.

Petition

We are proud that our conscience assures us that our lives in this world, and especially our relations with you, have been ruled by God-given frankness and sincerity, by the power of God's grace, and not by human wisdom (2 Corinthians 1:12 TEV)

Who are you praing for today?

Affirmation

But the time is coming and is already here, when by the power of God's Spirit people will worship the Father as he really is, offering him the true worship that he wants. God is Spirit, and only by the power of his Spirit can people worship him as he really is." (John 4:23-24 TEV)

Those who obey God's commands live in union with God and God lives in union with them. And because of the Spirit that God has given us we know that God lives in union with us. (1John 3:24 TEV)

Pause to reflect upon these biblical affirmations.

Thanksgiving

You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; rich as he was, he made himself poor for your sake, in order to make you rich by means of his poverty. (2 Corinthians 8:9 TEV)

Let us thank God for his priceless gift! (2 Corinthians 9:15 TEV)

What are you giving thanks to God for today?

Closing Prayer

Do not be afraid - I am with you!
I am your God - let nothing terrify you!
I will make you strong and help you;
I will protect you and save you.
I am the Lord your God;
I strengthen you and say,
'Do not be afraid; I will help you'. (Isaiah 41:10,13 TEV)

Yet hope returns when I remember this one thing:
The Lord's unfailing love and mercy still continue,
Fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise.
The Lord is all I have, and so I put my hope in him. (Lamentations 3:21-23 TEV)
