Praying Scripture back to God (day 10)posted on 17 August 2010 | posted in Prayer | ( 0 ) CommentsAdoration I will exalt You, my God and King; I will bless Your name for ever and ever. Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness is unsearchable. (Psalm 145:1–3) Out of the north He comes in golden splendor; With God is awesome majesty. The Almighty is beyond our reach; He is exalted in power And in His justice and great righteousness, He does not oppress. (Job 37:22–23) Pause to express your thoughts of praise and worship. Confession God will not always strive with us, Nor will He harbor His anger forever; He does not treat us as our sins deserve Or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His love for those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on His children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. (Psalm 103:9–13) Ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness. Renewal May I let the fear of the Lord be upon me, and be careful in what I do, for with the Lord my God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery. (2 Chronicles 19:7) May I meditate on Your precepts And consider Your ways. May I delight in Your statutes, And not forget Your word. Deal bountifully with Your servant, That I may live and keep Your word. Open my eyes that I may see Wonderful things from Your law. (Psalm 119:15–18) Pause to add your own prayers for personal renewal. Petition May I not enter the path of the wicked Or walk in the way of evil men. (Proverbs 4:14) Spiritual Insight Understanding and insight into the word Understanding my identity in Christ Who I am Where I came from Where I am going Understanding God's purpose for my life My activities for this day Special concerns Intercession The Spirit helps me in my weakness, for I do not know what I ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for me with groans that words cannot express. And He who searches the hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. (Romans 8:26–27) Believers Personal friends Those in ministry Those who are oppressed Those in need Special concerns Affirmation Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight. All things have been delivered to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him." (Matthew 11:25–27; Luke 10:21–22) The foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong; and the lowly things of this world and the despised things God has chosen, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him. (1 Corinthians 1:25, 27–29) Pause to reflect upon these biblical affirmations. Thanksgiving Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, Your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Humble and riding on a donkey, On a colt, the foal of a donkey. He will proclaim peace to the nations; His dominion will extend from sea to sea And from the River to the ends of the earth. (Zechariah 9:9–10) Pause to offer your own expressions of thanksgiving. Closing Prayer The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you And be gracious to you; The Lord turn His face toward you And give you peace. (Numbers 6:24–26) Boa, K.
