You existed before time began

Your throne, O Lord, hasbeen firm from the beginning, and you existed before time began. — Psalm 93:2

Christ is Everlasting. Ofhim we can sing with David, “Your throne, O Lord, has been firm from the beginning.” Let us rejoice, in Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, to-day, and forever.

Jesus always was. The baby born in Bethlehem was united to the Word(John1:1), which was in the beginning, and by him all things were made. Thetitle by which Christ revealed himself to John in Patmos was, “He who is, who was, and who is to come.” If he were not God from everlasting, we could not so seriously lovehim; we could not feel that he had any share in the eternal love which is thefountain of all covenant blessings; but since he was from all eternity with theFather, we trace the stream of love to him equally with his Father and the HolySpirit.

Jesus is for evermore. Jesus is notdead; he lives foreverto plead with God for us (Heb 7:25) in your times of need turn to him, for he iswaiting to bless you still.

Jesus will be. If you live until old age, you will findthat his cleansing fountain is still open, and his precious blood has notlost its power; you will find that the Priest who filled the healing fountainwith his own blood, lives to clean you from all sin. When only your last battleremains to be fought, you will find that the hand of your conquering Captain hasnot grown feeble.

When you enter heaven you will find him there bearing the dewof his youth; and through eternit Jesus will remain the persistent springof joy, life, and glory. May you draw living waters from thiswell!

Jesus always was, he always is, he always will be. He is eternal in allhis charactistics, in all his offices, in all his might, and willingness to bless, comfort, guard, and crowns you his people with peace.
