Fuelled by Love
The Motivation Behind Everything
Feeling unsure about church or faith? You’re not alone—we’d love to help you feel at home.
As we move toward Easter, we’re not just looking at what Jesus did—we’re asking why He did it.
And the answer is simple, but powerful:
Love.
- Not weak love.
- Not temporary love.
- Not conditional love.
A relentless, pursuing, sacrificial love.
“Everything Jesus did was fuelled by love.”
God’s Heart for the World
John 3:16 reminds us that God didn’t come to condemn the world—but to save it.
That changes everything.
- God’s posture toward humanity isn’t anger.
- It’s not distance.
- It’s not indifference.
- It’s love.
A love that moves toward us.
A love that makes the first move.
A love that gives.
Love in Action
Jesus didn’t just talk about love—He demonstrated it.
Throughout His life, we see it:
- In how He welcomed people, others rejected
- In how He forgave those who failed
- In how He served without needing recognition
And ultimately…
At the cross.
“The cross is what love looks like when it costs everything.”
The Same Love in Us
Here’s where it gets personal.
The love that sent Jesus…
Is the same love we’re called to live out.
Jesus said:
“Love one another as I have loved you.”
That raises the standard.
This isn’t about convenience.
It’s about commitment.
It’s choosing to love:
- When it’s uncomfortable
- When it’s inconvenient
- When it’s undeserved
If you’re trying to live this out but finding it difficult, you don’t have to do it alone.
Forgiveness That Keeps Going
In Matthew 18, Jesus talks about forgiveness—not just once, but again and again.
Why?
Because love doesn’t keep score.
Love keeps showing up.
“Love doesn’t run out when it’s tested—it proves itself.”
A Simple Challenge
This week, ask yourself:
Who can I intentionally love this week?
And then take one step:
- Send the message
- Make the call
- Have the conversation
- Do the kind thing
Don’t overcomplicate it.
Just start.
Final Thought
Easter begins with love.
- Before the cross…
- Before the resurrection…
There was a decision:
God chose to love the world.
And that love is still reaching people today
